Introduction to Aikido

For people who are interested in joining a class or like to have a look at practise , the Thursday training time at 6.00 pm would be suitable. If you like to try, please wear loose, comfortable clothing, remove all jewelry and wear some shoes from the change room to the mat. Some more information on the etiquette in our training environment is available here.

Tasmanian Aikido Summer Camp With
 Yasuyuki Suzuki 7th dan

14-15 January 2012 -in Hobart

Sat 14th 10:00 a.m. - 4.00 p.m.
Sun 15th 10.00a.m. - 3.00 p.m.

(note that these times are starting times, not arrival times - make sure you are at the venue well before)

$150 for both days, $85 per day - numbers are limited
$135 for both days for registrations and payment received by November 15th, 2011

The venue will be at the Sport and Recreation Centre, Grace Street (where our normal dojo is, but a different hall), Sandy Bay.

The Monday evening event for the the ones interested and still around will be in Carlton, directions also on the weekend.

January 7-9, 2011 - Seminar in Hobart/Conningham

The university Club will host a live-in Gashuku on the weekend of the 7th to 9th January 2011 at the Montgomery Park camp in Conningham. The camp has direct access to North-West Bay beaches.
Details as to starting times on Friday coming soon (likely late afternoon), last training will conclude Sunday lunchtime.
Costs will be around $100 including accommodation and basic food. For more info please contact 'info AT aikidoutas DOT org DOT au' or ask in class.

We will have a seminar with Stephen sensei (godan) on July 31st and August 1st, 2010.  The event is open to all practitioners of Aikido.
Schedule:
Saturday UTAS Dojo; classes commence 10.15 am with short breaks until 15.30 in the afternoon.
Sunday;UTAS Dojo; classes commence 10.15 am with short breaks until 15.30 in the afternoon.
Costs for the training $50.00.

Training in Japan at Kobayashi dojo in 2007

Uwe sensei, accompanied by a senior student, has been accepted to become uchi deshi at Kobayashi dojo in Tokyo, Japan during May/June 2007. The club looks forward to see their return and benifit from their broad experience. Their stay as ushi deshis involves vigourous training from 6.30 am to 9.00 pm, 6 days  a week. As ushi deshis they will also be required to perform a range of other duties in the spirit of being an aikido student.
