Introduction to Aikido |
|
For people who are interested in joining a class or like to have a look at practise , the Thursday training time at 6.00 pm would be suitable. If you like to try, please wear loose, comfortable clothing, remove all jewelry and wear some shoes from the change room to the mat. Some more information on the etiquette in our training environment is available here.

We will have a seminar with Stephen sensei (godan) on July 31st and August 1st, 2010. The event is open to all practitioners of Aikido. Schedule: Saturday UTAS Dojo; classes commence 10.15 am with short breaks until 15.30 in the afternoon. Sunday;UTAS Dojo; classes commence 10.15 am with short breaks until 15.30 in the afternoon. We are planning an extensive seminar with a senior instructor from Japan early in the year 2011. Details such as venue and times have yet to be finalised, but the seminar as such has been confirmed. Watch this space for updates (or ask in class).

Training in Japan at Kobayashi dojo in 2007 |
|
Uwe sensei, accompanied by a senior student, has been accepted to become uchi deshi at Kobayashi dojo in Tokyo, Japan during May/June 2007. The club looks forward to see their return and benifit from their broad experience. Their stay as ushi deshis involves vigourous training from 6.30 am to 9.00 pm, 6 days a week. As ushi deshis they will also be required to perform a range of other duties in the spirit of being an aikido student. We are back, see here for details!
